I’m a huge fan of Nigerian music and particularly crayon songs. The reason for this is I love the soft vibe that both crayon and Naija have to offer. Crayon is a Nigerian pop star whose singing style is very similar to that of Sauti Sol. Both have very smooth voices and they sing with a lot of conviction in their songs which makes the listener want to listen over and over again without getting tired of them.
Crayon was born on 21st November 1998 in a small town near the city of Lagos. He grew up there and had a normal childhood. However, when he was 11 years old, his mother died in an accident. After this event, his father got remarried and had another kid, who also became an orphan at the age of 11.
Crayon was very sad about losing his mother and didn’t want to go to school anymore. He spent all his time playing basketball or watching TV with friends. His father decided that it would be better if Crayon went to school instead of hanging out with friends all day long.
When Crayon started attending high school, he met new friends who encouraged him to take music seriously. They helped him learn how to play the guitar and write songs together with them. The band started performing at local events together with other bands in their town until they got noticed by a record label called Marvin Records in Lagos.
